Las Maravillas is the name of this committee, established on March 17, 2008 in the Compañía Jhugua Ñaro of the City of Itá, thanks to Ms. Dionisia B., the current general director, who sells tobacco (cigars) for a living. She got in touch with the consultant to obtain information on how the Committee of Enterprising Women program works. Subsequently, she was able to start her own group of 17 women who are working contentedly with Fundación Paraguaya.

All the committee members attend weekly meetings and work in solidarity in order to achieve their common goals.

This is a very active and united group of women who fulfill their duties excellently, demonstrating comradeship. There have been some beautiful friendships formed among the members of the committee.

All of these women are humble and hardworking, like Ms. Dionisia B., who makes and sells cigars in order to help her husband, who does not have a steady job because he is a day laborer. However, the whole family works together to try to get ahead as best as they possibly can.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
