Luisa Celsia
Luisa Celsia M. was born in the city of Matola, in the province of Maputo in the south of Mozambique. She is 29 years old, is married, and has a four year old son who is not yet yet in school. She studied through 11th grade but didn't continue because of her parents' lack of financial resources. She lives along with her sister in the house of other relatives, and is not helping to support anyone else.
.
She left Matola for Boane with her parents when she was young, and Boane is where she still lives. She's been working as a teacher for 4 years, as part of the Ministry of Education, and she studied in the Centro de Formação de Professores [Teacher Education Center]. She works around 6 hours a day and has a salary of 6.350.00mt per month, which she puts towards household expenses, also saving some each month in her bank account.

Luisa Celsia has never taken out a loan with another bank. She found out about Hluvuku through some colleagues who are also customers of the institution. This is her third loan, in the amount of 20.000.00mt. She plans to use this money to buy construction materials (zinc plates, cement, doors and windows) to continue with her project. The earlier loans were for 10.000.00mt and 20.000.00mt, both for the same undertaking.

In the future she would like to apply for more loans to finish the project and offer her family a more comfortable life.

About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
