Hafiz A., 55 years old and married with four children, sells flour wholesale as well as retail. In this business for more than 20 years, Hafiz is able to support his family from the generated income. Today he is requesting a loan of 1600 AZN to purchase more flour to enlarge his range of goods. Hafiz thanks everybody for their support and promises to repay the loan on time.
Aqroinvest Credit Union was founded by a group of 32 Imishli farmers in 2001, and has grown to become one of the largest credit unions in Azerbaijan. It boasts a portfolio of nearly $5 million and is wholly owned by its more than 3,500 borrowers, as of December 2011.
