Mrs. Akossiwa A. was born on December 31, 1969 in Gapé, Togo. She is married and mother of 10 children. Her ne’er-do-well husband is drives a motorcycle taxi but scarcely manages to support his family. Born into a poor family, Mrs. A. began early with the business of preparing beans and gari (manioc flour, a Togolese staple food) for sale. This is her main business undertaking and she works hard at it in spite of her meager resources.

A. would like to expand her micro-business, but she does not have the necessary capital to do so. For that reason, she is requesting a loan of US$ 600 which will allow her to build a shed and to purchase raw materials for her production of basic staples for resale.
