Mrs. San V. is 24-year-old, married and mother. She has a young child who is enrolled in primary school. Her husband is the main provider for family. He sells jewelry with his uncle around the province, in Cambodia.
To earn a living, San V. sells breakfast foods to customers from nearby villages from her home. San V. is looking for a loan to decorate her shop and her house to better attract customers who come to eat her food.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
