Belinda applied for a new loan amounting PHP 45,000.00 to buy fertilizers and insecticides and to “palay” (rice). She wants to buy these items in advance in order to get a lower price and to avoid borrowing money from her neighbor during the planting period. When she borrows from her neighbor, she usually pays back in rice grains after the crop is harvested which is very disadvantageous to her and her husband.
Belinda hopes that, through her loan, she and her husband can save their harvest and get a better price at market. She wants to help support her grand children's education, invest in another rice field, and build a better house for the family.
