Sim R., 49, lives with her husband and three children in Takeo province. To earn a living, she has been working in her rice field growing rice and raising animals. On average, she makes about US $2 of profit a day. Her husband has a business collecting sugar palm juice and refining it to sell in the market. Three of their children work as construction workers. Sim R. is asking for a loan of US $500 to purchase cows to help her in the rice field.
