View original language description ↓
Married and mother of five children, Bertha C. de Layme is the owner of a grocery store located in her home, in the region of Cosmos 79 of El Alto city. She belongs to the association “Rocío de la Mañana” of Pro Mujer, being one of the newest members, with only two years in the organization. She has been devoted to this business for four years and started it thanks to the collaboration of her son, who works as a public transportation driver. Her husband’s salary as a policeman and public service person is not enough. Bertha needs the capital to enlarge her store and incorporate a bookstore and a photocopy center, since the grocery store is only enough to cover her basic needs but not to venture into another business.
