Mily, 23, has two small children, who live with her and her partner. She has been a member of the "LA PROYECCIÓN D. SAN JOSÉ" communal bank for the last 2 years along with 10 other fellow members, who elected her group president, in recognition of her dedication to work and her responsibility. They all lifve in the San Jose area of Carbayllo district.

Two months ago she started to sell salchipapas (fried potatoes with hot dogs). She sets up her cart in one of the main avenues; she sells broasted chickens, hamburgers and salchipapas.

This work has allowed her to purchase, in a relatively short period of time, some things for her house and it has contributed to the family's economic stability.

She would like to have her own restaurant one day in a busy part of town.

The funds requested will be used to buy needed ingredients for her meals and to buy soft-drinks.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
