Alibala N. is a 56-year-old man who runs his own barber shop in Agsu city. He is married and has two children who are independent adults now.
Barbering is the only source of income for Alibala and his wife. He thinks that now that his children are grown up and his income allows, he can improve his workplace and make small repairs. For this purpose he applied for 1,600 AZN.
Aqroinvest Credit Union was founded by a group of 32 Imishli farmers in 2001, and has grown to become one of the largest credit unions in Azerbaijan. It boasts a portfolio of nearly $5 million and is wholly owned by its more than 3,500 borrowers, as of December 2011.
