Here she built a salon shop next to her house where she has some beauty and decorative accessories to provide a service. People need to hire her accessories to decorate themselves for their parties. She also provides a face make-up service for additional profit. M. is married with a young child who is enrolled in school. She has a partner in her husband, who drives a truck for a small firm. M. requested a loan which she will use to improve her salon business. She will buy extra amounts of her beauty accessories in order to meet the needs of her customers.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
