Rhoda S. B. is twenty five years old, divorced, and has one child who is five and half years old. Her business is located at Khayega, a busy local market in Kakamega. She sells vegetables, onions and tomatoes to the local people. She has engaged in this kind of business for the last four years despite the fact that competition is high because there are many people in the area engaged in the same kind of business as hers.
She is using her loan to buy a cow and a donkey. A cow will give her milk to consume at home and she will sell the excess to the local people. A donkey will enable her to transport her goods from one place to another. She dreams of buying her own land and building her own shop. She also sees herself being the biggest green-grocer in Khayega. She is a very hardworking and determined lady.
