Balongi Plus Group's story

Nelly Bonjeka M. is the manager of the group “Balongi Plus” made up of 29 members firmly united to receive loans from the MFI (micro-finance institution) HOPE DRC in order to develop their businesses.

She is 40 years old, is married, and has three children who go to school.

Nelly’s main business is selling vegetables and sausages in her area. She has been a micro-entrepreneur since 1985 and each week, her business brings in a profit of $90. She likes her business and she is working hard to achieve her goal of one day opening a general store.

Nelly is a loyal client of HOPE DRC and has already received eight different loans and has repaid them properly. She intends to use this next loan to buy 10 kilograms of sausages to resell with the aim of increasing her profits.
