Currently, customer demand has been rising, but the prevailing economic conditions are not favorable enough to allow her to increase her capital. For this reason, she came to the ASDIR Association to request a loan, with the aim of buying materials and supplies, which will allow her to increase her sales, while hoping also to be able to help her children advance and provide them with a better quality of life.

Doña Lucía Celestina Ordóñez C. cuenta con 43 años de edad, es casada de oficios Artesana, “Elaboración de Ropa Típica” cuenta con un taller de 2 telares, habita junto a sus 4 hijos conjuntamente con su esposo, Ella y su esposo se dedican al mismo oficio cuentan con un empleado para la misma actividad, lleva 25 años de elaborar cortes Típicos en su residencia que se encuentra en el Paraje Chaquiral, Cantón Quiaquix, del departamento de Totonicapán, Guatemala, actualmente la demanda de su clientela a crecido, pero las condiciones económicas en que se encuentra no son suficientes para que ella pueda aumentar su capital, por tal razón acudió a la Asociación ASDIR, a solicitar un préstamo, con la intención de comprar materia prima y de esa manera poder aumentar sus ventas, esperando también poder sacar adelante a sus hijos, y que tengan mejores condiciones de vida.

ASDIR (Asociación de Desarrollo Integral Rural - Association for the Development of Rural Communities) is a community-based organization that works to promote development in the villages and communities where it serves. It was founded in 1999 in the village of Nimasac, Totonicapán Department, by a handful of local men and women to support community projects and group loans. Today ASDIR has 5 offices across 3 departments (Totonicapán, Sololá and Suchitepéquez) serving more than 6,000 clients, most of them in rural communities.
