Los Canarios Group
In this Group: Maria Cristina, Maria, Seferino Freddy, Juana, Maria Julieta, Ines, Eva, Mirian, Raquel Antonia, Marina Adelfa
The group "Los Canarios" is represented by Señora Cristina and consists of 10 members, of whom 90% are women and 10% are men. All live in the same zone of San Jorge I. This is a group that has already worked with our institution (Fundación Agrocapital), but they took a break for two loan cycles in order to be able to continue. They are very courteous and responsible people, and for this reason Fundación Agrocapital is offering them a new opportunity to continue growing together. The members have different business activities, such as the sale of fruits and vegetables in the market, and the sale of chickens, clothing, and hardware.

The president is the owner of her own glass shop, where she works with her husband, and where she is able to care for their three small children. Señora Cristina's greatest expectation is to have a well-equipped glass shop to be able to make stained glass windows and to enlarge her store so that she can buy larger quantities of glass without having to leave it outdoors where it would lose its shine. All this effort on the part of her husband and herself is for the support of their family and especially for the well-being and education of their children.

The rest of the group members will direct their funds to the acquisition of merchandise, supplies, and materials to increase their sales and generate better incomes, which will allow them to improve the quality of life in their homes. As for competition, many of the members have had to stop selling some products due to competition, but with their effort and dedication they know how to overcome difficulties to proviD. daily sustenance to their families.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
