A. Falilath was born in 1972 in Cotonou, the economic capital of Benin. Ten years ago, she got situated in the Foun-Foun quarter, in the 4th district of the city of Porto-Novo, the administrative capital of Benin. Married to YAYA Mouran, a shipping agent, she is the mother of three children who are all in school. She lives with her three children and husband. Together, the couple ensures that family expenses are covered.

To meet her different needs and to help out her husband, Falilath sells food (rice served with sauce; and cornmeal porridge) and also a variety of goods, in Porto-Novo. She stocks up in Cotonou and at Ikpinlé, a market for staple foods.

Falilath had benefited from two ALIDé loans, which she has repaid. Her ambition is to increase the size of her business and to cope better with the demands of her customers. But given the few financial means at her disposal, she's requesting a third loan from ALIDé.

A. Falilath est née en 1972 à Cotonou, capitale économique du Bénin. Il y a une dizaine d'année que Falilath s'est installée au quartier Foun-Foun, dans le quatrième arrondissement de la ville de Porto-Novo, capitale administrative du Bénin. Mariée à YAYA Mourana un transitaire, Falilath est mère de trois enfants qui sont tous scolarisés. C'est avec ses enfants et son mari qu'elle vit. Le couple assure ensemble les charges de la famille. Pour subvenir à ses différents besoins et venir en aide à son mari, Falilath vend de la nourriture (riz accompagné de sauce, bouillie de maïs) et aussi divers produits à Porto-Novo. C'est à Cotonou et à Ikpinlé, un marché de vente de produits vivriers, que Falilath s'approvisionne. Falilath avait bénéficié de deux crédits auprès de ALIDé, crédits qu'elle a bien remboursés. Falilath ambitionne accroître la taille de son activité et mieux faire face à la demande de ses clients. Mais compte tenu du peu de moyens financiers dont elle dispose, Falilath sollicite un troisième crédit auprès de ALIDé.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients.
