Jelyn G. is from the village of Naawan, Misamis Oriental. She is 25 years old. Jelyn is married and has one infant child. To make a living, Jelyn owns and manages a video karaoke shop, where the customer pays a set amount per song. Jelyn has been engaged in her business for over two years and earns approximately $125 a month from this activity.
In 2009, Jelyn joined HSPFI to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation by engaging in business activities. Jelyn is requesting a loan of 5,000 PHP which will be used to purchase additional products to sell. This will be her 1st loan from HSPFI. She plans to use the additional revenue generated to improve her business.
HSPFI is one of the accredited partners of Opportunity International in the Philippines. It is based in Cagayan de Oro City and is reaching out to the poor households of Northern Mindanao.
