Ana Celina, 32, is a hard-working woman. She has three children, all of whom are in school. Together with her husband, she hopes to help them finish their studies. She and her husband rent out rooms. She used to sell prepared meals in a market. Her house has improved considerably thanks to the financing that Afodenic gives to low-income persons; it is the best way that one can prosper. She is very grateful to God because she has managed to improve her home providing both better security and hygiene for her little ones. This funding will be used to buy building materials like: sand, stone, cement and iron, to build a porch because it's just a mud wall. She wants to enclose it and plaster the walls so that her house will have a pleasant appearance. Later on, she plans to install flooring because it's currently a dirt floor; she hopes to do this in the short run with help from her husband and the institution.

About Housing Loans
Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
