Ileana is 46 years old and is single. She has 4 grown children. Her youngest son Robin, who is 22, lives with her. Currently, Ileana is also caring for her 12 year old grandson Melsin, who is in the first year of high school.

Ileana has worked for the Ministry of Education as an elementary school teacher in the Enrique Tierno Galvan School for 23 years. She is asking for a 6th loan from AFODENIC to add a room to her house. This will improve her living conditions and her level of comfort because her house is part of a subsidized construction project and is very small. About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
