María

Maria is 51 years old, is married and has 2 children. Her husband makes a living making and selling chipas, which is a bread-like food made out of a starch, cheese, milk and vegetable oil. He sells chipas on the streets, mostly on the weekends, when he sets up a stand outside the stadium during soccer matches.

Maria runs a small food stand in her home and also helps her husband make chipas. Her food stand has been around for 15 years. They plan to expand the food stand to allow them to sell fast food and ice cream during the summer months. They are requesting this loan to finance the expansion of their small grocery stand.
