Men K. is in the business of producing handmade brooms to sell in her village. She is 48 years old, married and lives with her three children in Takeo province, Cambodia. K. earns US $2 per day. She has been in her business since 2000. Her husband is a skillful carpenter earning US $3 per day.
K. and her family members work hard and help each other to ensure a good standard of living for their family. They are seeking to improve their businesses as well as to cover necessary daily expenses. Therefore, K. is requesting a loan of US $1000 from CREDIT, Kiva’s partner. She wants to use the loan to buy a motorbike for her children to commute to work. This is her first loan from CREDIT.
