Ket's Group
In this Group: Ket, Phalla, Maly, Phalla
This group loan consists of four people who are led by Mrs. Ket S., located in Chong Koh village, Kandal province. The members of the group will use the loan for different purposes.

Mrs. Ket S. and her husband, Mr. Khorn Thorn, are farmers who own a 2.5-hectare field where they cultivate rice. They do not have enough money to support the field, so Mrs. Ket S. decided to ask for 400,000 KHR from the Kiva field partner, AMK (Angkor Microfinance Kampuchea), to buy gasoline and fertilizer to help with their farming.

Mr. Khorn Thorn is a fisherman who can earn a small income to help his family members. Mrs. Ket S. is the mother of five children, three of whom are students in the local school, while the other two are too young to study or work.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
