Allahverdi G. is 29 years old. He began to work with land at a young age because of lack of financial resources. He grows different kinds of fruit, which has allowed him to support his family.
Allahverdi is now requesting loan of 1,600 AZN to enlarge his business and purchase seeds and fertilizer to grow more crops. This should allow him to satisfy the needs of his customers and improve socio-economic conditions for himself and his family.
Aqroinvest Credit Union was founded by a group of 32 Imishli farmers in 2001, and has grown to become one of the largest credit unions in Azerbaijan. It boasts a portfolio of nearly $5 million and is wholly owned by its more than 3,500 borrowers, as of December 2011.
