Yun S., 45, is married and lives with her eight children in Siem Reap Town, Cambodia. S. is in the business of weaving traditional baskets and she is able to earn an income of $3 per day to help cover the family expenses. She has been with this business since 2007. Her husband helps his wife with this business and is able to earn the same amount of income as his wife, $3 per day.
S. and her family members try to work hard and help each other to ensure a good standard of living for the family. They are seeking to improve their businesses as well. As a result, S. is requesting a loan of $1,000 from CREDIT, Kiva’s partner. She wants to use the expected loan to purchase more materials to produce baskets for her existing and new customers. This is her second loan from CREDIT.
