Lung S., 46, is a widow and lives with her two children in Siem Reap, Cambodia. S. sells desserts at a local market in the province and she is able to earn US $8.50 per day to help cover the family's expenses. She has been in this business since 2000. Her daughter also runs a dessert stand at the market earning US $7 per day to help support the family as well.
S. and her family members work hard and help each other to ensure a good standard of living for their family. They are seeking to improve their businesses as well. S. is requesting a loan of US $800 from CREDIT, Kiva’s partner. She wants to use the loan to purchase rice from the local farmers in her village to stock for resale in the most profitable season. This is her second loan from CREDIT.
