Kiwojjolo Group, Lugazi
In this Group: Ibrahim, Lydia, Faridah, Jamirah, Robert, Sophie, Rehema, Agnes, Fred, Fred, Irene, Godfrey, Grace, Florence, Grace, Richard, Robert
K. Ibrahim is the leader of his lending group in Lugazi. He is married with seven children aged between three and sixteen years, all of whom are in secondary or primary school. He also takes care of his parents.

Ibrahim is a poultry farmer in Namawojjolo trading center and, since this is the place where roasted chicken is sold in abundance, he is able to sell his chicken to a ready market. Before poultry keeping, Ibrahim was an operator in the sterling factory but his monthly earnings were not enough to take care of his family well.

Ibrahim's customers are loyal because of his good customer care and his good quality chicken (his loans enable him to feed his chickens well). Ibrahim wants to become a large-scale poultry farmer so that he can educate his children well. He needs a loan to help with buying more broilers for rearing and more feed for the chickens he already has.

Additional Information

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
