Van Y., 35, is married and lives with her three children in Takeo Province, Cambodia. Y. is engaged in the agriculture sector, raising pigs at her home in the village, and is able to earn an income of USD $2 per day to help cover the family expenses. She has been in this business since 1993. Her husband (pictured here) operates his motorbike as a taxi driver, earning an income of USD $8 per day. Y. and his wife try to work hard and help each other to ensure a good standard of living for the family. And they are seeking to improve their businesses as well. As a result, Y. is requesting a loan of US $1,000 from CREDIT, Kiva’s partner. She wants to use the expected loan to purchase a new motorbike for her husband to provide his services to clients staying at the hotel in his province. This is her second loan from CREDIT.
