Oum R., 41, is married and lives with her four children in Takeo Province, Cambodia.
R. is engaged in the business of selling vegetables and is able to earn an income of US$104 per month to help cover the family expenses. She has been with this business since 1994. Her husband is engaged in the business of growing rice and some kinds of crops, earning an income of US$4 per day.
R. and her husband try to work hard and help each other to ensure a good standard of living for the family and they are seeking to improve their businesses as well. As a result, R. is requesting a loan of US$800 from CREDIT, Kiva’s partner. She wants to use the loan to purchase a motorbike with a trailer attached to transport her vegetables for sale. This is her first loan from CREDIT.
