Mrs. C. is 27 years of age, is married, and is the mother of a school-aged child. She works sewing clothes in the garment industry.
Mrs. C.’s husband (shown in the photo) is a military policeman and also a taxi driver. He has been using his older motor as a taxi many years. Unfortunately, his taxi has broken and this has affected his income. To solve the problem, Mrs. C. requests a loan to repair her husband’s old taxi.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
