Mrs.Trinidad O. is from the village of Calaran in Calamba, Misamis Occidental. She is 48 years old. She is married and blessed with only one school-aged child. Trinidad is a church worker earning 500 Php per month. Trinidad and her husband are also busy working in a farm in their own cultivated riceland. She has been engaged on her business activities for more than 10 years now. She earned 7,000.00 monthly from the said business. In 1999, Trinidad joined PMPC to access the programs and services of the said Coop. Trinidad is requesting a new loan of 30,000.00 PHP which will be used for additional capital of her existing project. This loan will be the 14th loan taken out by Trinidad from PMPC. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve/expand the borrower's business. About Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative
Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative (PMPC) was founded in 1992 by the beneficiaries, parents and staff of the Paglaum Community Development Foundation to address economic and livelihood activities for sustainability. The organization operates in the northwestern provinces of Mindanao and Visayas.
In the local vernacular, “paglaum” means “hope.” The initial foundation is dedicated to child development through a holistic approach. The goal is to build self-reliance and expand opportunity so the poorest of the poor can help themselves.
