La señora María Elena D. forma parte del banco comunal Esperanza para Superar, estas socias se reúnen en el balneario San Jacinto en la zona norte de Manabí.

María está casada tiene una hija de 13 años, a más de ser ama de casa tiene un pequeño negocio de venta de helados caseros que ella prepara, también tiene un kiosco donde vende cosas de picar como pan de yuca, empanadas y tortillas solo los fines de semana, sus labores empiezan muy temprano porque debe tener listos los helados para las once de la mañana para lo cual se compró un congelador grande donde caben 300 helados aproximadamente.

La hija de María es de gran ayuda en el negocio de venta de helados mientras que ella sale a comprar los productos necesarios para prepararlos, los préstamos recibidos de la Fundación son destinados para sus negocios y con el nuevo crédito solicitado va a comprar leche, azúcar, esencias, canela y frutas para elaborar sus deliciosos helados.
