Mrs. Khuy K. is 40 years old and lives with her husband who is 47 in the Kampong Cham district of Cambodia. Khuy K. currently earns $2.40 a day as a street vendor, whilst her husband earns $4 a day as a carpenter. Khuy K. has applied for this loan to improve her husband's business in two main ways. First, she would like to purchase a motorcycle so that he can keep up with current consumer demand more easily and also expand the area that he is able to work in. A motorcycle would also cut the family's expenditure on moto-taxis. She would also like to purchase more wood for the business so that he can expand and meet growing demand from his clients. An improvement in his business would mean additional income for the whole family.
