Comfort is a forty–five year-old married mother of five children, all of whom are still in school. She lives with her husband and children in a rented apartment in a fishing community in the central region of Ghana. Comfort works hard to support her husband in providing for the family. She trades in maize and plantains, which she buys in bags from nearby towns. Comfort has been in business for over fifteen years and wants a loan to procure more bags of maize and other ingredients in bulk so that she can increase her profit margin.
