Akua is forty-two years old. She is married and has given birth to five children who are all in school. She lives with her husband and children in a rented apartment in a fishing dominated community in the central region of Ghana. Akua is a petty trader. She sells second-hand clothes. She hawks and treks to nearby communities to sell on their market days. Akua has been in business for over ten years and desires to give her business a face-lift. She therefore wants the loan to procure bales of textile goods.
