Mary is sixty years of age. She is divorced and the mother of two children who are both in school. She lives with her children in a rented apartment in a tourist attraction community in the central region of Ghana. The community is one of the coastal towns in Ghana. As a result, the major occupation of the people is mainly fishing. Mary is a trader. She runs a provision store by the roadside in the community. She procures her goods from Accra. According to Mary, she has been in business for over thirty-five years and wants a loan to buy goods in bulk to increase her stock.
