Thigingi is married with a six-month-old daughter. For the last five years, he has run a business selling Safaricom mobile phone airtime scratch cards wholesale. He also runs a food kiosk. Thigingi was previously employed as a sales representative for Safaricom. He describes himself as hardworking and industrious. Due to Faulu's training, Thigingi says he has become focused on business and started saving.
Thigingi has requested a loan for 20,000 KES from Kiva partner Faulu to purchase scratch cards in values higher than 250 KES each. In the future, he would like to be a registered reseller with Safaricom and expand to branches elsewhere in Nairobi.
