Doeuk S. is an older widowed mother of four children, three married and the other one single. She is a good homemaker, cooking tasty meals for her family. Her son, who is an internal staff member of a private company, contributes to the family's upkeep, and Doeuk S. is requesting a loan to enable her son to buy a personal computer to support his work and to repair his existing motorbike that he rides to work.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
