Mao S., 54, is married with three children. She resides in Phnom Penh City, Cambodia with her husband (pictured) and children. S. is employed in a Christian institution, earning an income of US $4 per day. Her husband operates his motorbike as a taxi driver at a local market in the city, earning an income of US $3 per day. With his available time from his current work, he uses his skill painting to generate more income. Both sources of income help cover the family expenses, especially those for the children’s education. S. and her husband are seeking to improve their standard of living and generate a better income. Therefore, S. is asking for a loan of US $1,000 to purchase painting equipment to expand the business.
