Dolly Elena's story

Ms. Dolly D. is a member of the Las Nazarenas Communal Bank in the Bellavista district and province, department of San Martin. She is a 40-year-old woman with a live-in partner and 3 children, 2 of whom are her dependents.

Dolly Elena, an enterprising and hard-working woman, took the initiative and decided to sell Juanes (rice, chicken, olives and an egg wrapped in a plantain leaf and parboiled) and anticuchos (grilled meat on skewers). She got her start in this business at a very young age and has now been in business for several years. Every night, Dolly Elena goes to her stand located outside her home where she attends to her patrons. She states that her daily sales are great because of the delicious flavor she adds to her dishes.

She currently runs this same business and is very satisfied with the works that she does day by day. She opens mornings and evenings. She personally attends to her customers with the charm that she is noted for.

With this 1,000.00 PEN loan, she will purchase the ingredients that she needs to prepare her meals, such as: kilos of rice and sugar, cooking oil by the gallon, sacks of potatoes, crates of chickens, and vegetables. She will also invest some of the money in purchasing utensils in order to replace her old ones, thus providing better customer service.

Dolly Elena feels full of vitality and the desire to keep getting ahead. She has many goals and dreams in life, such as establishing her own restaurant. At the same time, she is also grateful to the Manuela Ramos Movement for helping her launch her own business.
