A. Dorcas was born in 1978 in Avrankou, within the county of Ouémé in Bénin. Dorcas lives in Vakon Azohouè, not far from Porto-Novo, and is married to Djoi Jonas, a driver. The couple has four children, all of whom are attending school. Dorcas lives with her husband and children. Together, Dorcas and her husband pay for the family's expenses.
For the past 20 years, Dorcas has sold vegetables and sauces in Ouando, which is in Porto-Novo. Dorcas purchases her supplies in Ikpinlè and in Dangbo, in the south of Benin. She has previously benefitted from 3 loans with ALIDé, all of which she fully repaid. In order to grow her business and better satisfy the needs of her clientele, Dorcas is requesting a fourth loan from ALIDé. Dorcas hopes to purchase a parcel of land and later build her own home, with the help of her business.

Dorcas a déjà bénéficié de trois crédits auprès de ALIDé, crédits qu’elle a bien remboursés. En vue d’accroître son activité et de mieux satisfaire les demandes des consommateurs, Dorcas sollicite un quatrième crédit auprès de ALIDé. Dorcas envisage acquérir sa propre parcelle et construire plus tard sa maison, grâce à ses économies.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients.
