She is requesting her second loan and hopes to be the beneficiary of Kiva funding so that she can buy construction materials to build a bedroom in her house. Her husband helps with the household expenses. Milagro is characterized as an enterprising, responsible, and honest woman. She is known in her community and has good credit references. In addition, she has demonstrated responsibility in her commitments, as well as the capacity and willingness to repay her loans.

Milagro’s dream is to have a decent home with the basic necessities so that her children can grow up in a spacious and pleasant environment.

Milagro de 29 años de edad, es casada, tiene dos niños, un varòncito de 6 años y una niña de 1 añito, labora en la financiera FAMA como Jefe Servicio Financiero, esa solicitando 2do refinancimiento y espera ser beneficiada por el fondo kiva para compra de material de construcciòn y construir un dormitorio en su casa, su marido le ayuda para los gastos del hogar, se ha caracterizado por ser una mujer emprendedora responsable, honesta, reconocido en la comunidad con buenas referencias crèditicia, es muy responsable con sus compromisos, posee capacidad y voluntad de pago. El mayor sueño de Milagro es poder tener una vivienda digna con las condiciones basicas para que sus hijos crezcan en un ambiente amplio y agradable.


Important Information About This Loan
Kiva recently posted a message regarding the “No Pago” movement in Nicaragua (a movement for non-payment of loans). This movement, supported mostly by farmers of the north of Nicaragua with ties to the left-wing party in Nicaragua, has been organizing protests and had submitted a law to the government to create a moratorium on debt repayment. Initially it was unclear whether this law would pass, which would have had severe effects on the banking and microfinance industry in Nicaragua. However in the last month the executive branch rejected the law in its current form. The No Pago movement still exists but seems to have lost some steam. There is still a possibility that a law encouraging more restructuring of loans could pass next year, and microfinance institutions are voluntarily restructuring loans to delinquent borrowers, still increasing risk of lending in Nicaragua. However indications are that the situation is less dramatic than before.
