Tshibangu K., aged 50, is the leader of a group of micro-entrepreneurs called "Obéissance Plus".  It is composed in solidarity of 33 members who have a need for micro-loans from the lenders of the world via Kiva and the micro-finance institution HOPE RDC.  The goal of the members is to develop their businesses. 

Tshibangu sells jewelry and a variety of other items at a marketplace located southwest of the city of Kinshasa.  He has been a micro-entrepreneur since 1990 and has acquired solid experience in this domain.  He is a loyal client who has obtained a loan five times with HOPE RDC, and he has repaid them properly.  Right now, his business generates a profit of $150 for him per week.  He intends to use the next loan to buy jewelry and other goods to sell in order to bolster his capital. 

His ambition is to save a lot of money for coping with hard times in the future.  He is married and the father of three children, ages 12 to 17 years.  They all go to school.

Tshibangu K. 50 ans, est dirigeant d’un groupe des micro-entrepreneurs dénommé « Obéissance Plus». Il est composé de 33 membres solidaires qui ont besoin des microcrédits de la part des prêteurs du monde à travers Kiva et l’IMF HOPE RDC dans le but de développer leurs affaires.
Tshibangu vend des bijoux et autres articles divers dans un marché situé au sud-ouest de la ville de Kinshasa. Il est micro entrepreneur depuis 1990 et a acquit une solide expérience dans ce domaine. Tshibangu est client fidèle qui a obtenu 5 fois les crédits chez l’IMF HOPE RDC et les a remboursés correctement. Actuellement, son activité lui génère un bénéfice de $150 par semaine. Il compte avec le prochain prêt acheter les bijoux et autres articles à revendre pour renforcer le capital. Son ambition est d’épargner beaucoup afin de faire face aux moments difficiles dans l’avenir. Tshibangu est marié et père de 3 enfants âgés de 12 à 17 ans. Tous vont à l’école.

HOPE International has been providing small business loans and savings services to thousands of entrepreneurs in DRC since 2004. HOPE DRC targets small business owners who can use loans to increase their inventories or invest in assets that have the potential to increase their incomes. Funds from Kiva lenders play a major role in expanding access to affordable, flexible capital for micro-entrepreneurs, 80% of whom are women.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
