Joyce is thirty-two years old. She is married and has six children who are all in school. She lives with her husband and children in a rented apartment in a farming town in the Western Region of Ghana. Most of the inhabitants practice farming alongside other trading activities. Joyce is a baker. She bakes bread and supplies it to retailers and beverage sellers in her community. She buys the goods from nearby communities. Joyce has been in business for two years and requests a loan to procure bags of flour and other bread baking ingredients in bulk so she can expand her business.
