Macheru is 50 years old and married with three children. His wife works as a civil servant and his children are all attending school.
Macheru runs a hardware business selling building materials to developers and has been in business for ten years. He also earns some income from a rental property. His loan is for Kes 50,000 and he will use the funds to purchase more building materials.
Macheru describes himself as hardworking and says that, in the future, he would like to become self-reliant and a leading hardware supplier in his town of Kitengela and in the surrounding area.
