Fourteen people who are all living in Damnak Rovieng village in Takeo province make up the village bank group. Mrs. Navy P. is the president who has been selected by the members of the village bank group and they all will use the loan for different purposes. She is a farmer who owns a 1.5-hectare field of land to cultivate rice. She is 45 years old and the mother of two children who are enrolled in the local school. Her husband, Mr. Nan Sokha, owns a loudspeaker which has been hired by the villagers for use during festivals and weddings. Since his business is going well, he wants to expand it. Thus, Mrs. Navy P. decided to request a loan to buy more loudspeakers.
