They are very enthusiastic about working together to help move their small businesses forward. Some members sell things like American clothing, bread, sausages, empanadas, and beverages. Other members work in public transportation, welding, or as employees in public companies. The group members know how to get ahead in business so that they can give their families their daily bread. This loan will be used to make their businesses grow by purchasing merchandise, supplies, spare parts, and the tools they need to provide service. Regarding their experience with solidarity groups, most of the group members have already dealt with similar microfinance institutes, but none of those institutes have given them the support and trust that this foundation has, allowing them to make progress with their plans to grow and provide their families with a better quality of life.

Additional Information

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
