The “Las Blanquitas” communal bank, represented by Blanca A., consists of 14, hard-working, members who have high expectations of their first lending cycle. Most of the members sell a variety of products like furniture, fast food, silver jewelry, clothing, groceries in neighborhood stores, cosmetics, making regional clothing like blouses and blankets, telephone service card sales, and public passenger transportation. As far as competition goes, these members are well situated in the central market so they have a client base that likes the merchandise they offer. The financing will be used to buy merchandise which is more in demand by their customers, raw materials and tools which will help them speed up production to have products that are more in tune with market demands. Other members will use the financing to buy replacement parts for their vehicles. The members have worked with communal banks in the past so are aware of the particular working modalities but, still, are grateful for the economic support and trust provided by fundación Agrocapital.
