Sarah is a 56-year-old married mother of four children, all of whom are still in school. She lives with her husband and children in a rented apartment in a town called Kade in the Eastern Region of Ghana. Kade is a commercial town. However, a majority of the inhabitants practice farming as a hobby or as their major occupation alongside other trading activities. Sarah is a trader. She trades in cereals, and her primary good is maize. She buys the goods from nearby communities. Sarah treks to procure her supply and sells it at the local market. She has been in the business for fifteen years and wants a loan to procure goods in bulk to expand her business.
