Chhom C., age 34, is married and has three children. Two of her children are enrolled in the local school. To make a living, she designs and sews clothing. She earns an income of US $4.00 per day. The family is also assisted by her husband, a taxi driver in Kampot Province, who earns US $4.50 per day as the primary source of income for the family. C. and her husband are seeking to improve his business and their family's standard of living. Therefore, she is asking for a loan of US $1000 to purchase a new sewing machine to expand her sewing business.
