Sixta Yolanda Silva Fiestas

Sixta is a 46-year-old mother of 6 children who lives together with her husband. Currently, she lives with her 2 youngest sons, one of whom is still studying and another that lives with them because he has special needs. They all reside in the annex La Piedra, belonging to the farmhouse Punto Cuatro, in the district of Mochumi, which is located 30 minutes from the city of Chiclayo.

Her husband, like the majority of the men from the region, works in agriculture. However, this activity does not generate the income that they need to take care of their home expenses. For this reason, she has a business that prepares and sells chicha de jora (a common drink made from corn), which she has been managing for more than 20 years. Additionally, she knits girdles, which are used by the farmers in order to obtain greater comfort while carrying out heavy work.

With these two activities, she helps with the expenses in her home. Two times a week she prepares the chicha, and she sells it to the inhabitants in the area. Also, on Sundays she goes to the market in Mochumi to sell the girdles that she has knitted during the week. Her daily time is split between knitting girdles, preparing and selling chicha, and caring for her special son who is 15 years old.

She is requesting for the first time from Edpyme Alternativa a credit of 1,000 nuevos soles, which she plans to use in the purchase of necessary items for making chicha de jora (corn, sugar, firewood), as well as thread for making girdles.

Sixta is a responsible mother and devoted to her family. Her greatest wish is to be able to provide her youngest son with a quality education and also to improve the quality of life of her special son, so that he continues to feel loved and appreciated by the people that surround him. Sixta es una madre de familia de 46 años de edad, vive junto a su esposo y tiene 6 hijos. Actualmente vive con sus dos últimos hijos, uno se encuentra estudiando aún y otro vive con ellos todavía porque es una persona especial. Todos residen en el anexo La Piedra, perteneciente al caserío Punto Cuatro, distrito de Mochumí, ubicado a 30 minutos de la ciudad de Chiclayo.

Su esposo, como la mayoría de hombres de la zona, se dedica a la agricultura; pero esta actividad no genera los ingresos que necesitan para solventar la economía del hogar. Por este motivo ella tiene un negocio de preparación y venta de chicha de jora (bebida tipica hecha a base de maíz) el cual viene manejando desde hace más de 20 años. Además también teje fajas (prenda de vestir adicional utilizada por los agricultores para obtener mayor comodidad al momento de efectuar trabajo pesado).

Con estas dos actividades ella apoya a la economía de su hogar; dos veces por semana prepara la chicha y la vende a los pobladores de la zona. Además los domingos va hacia el mercado de Mochumí para vender las fajas que ha tejido durante la semana. Su tiempo diario trancurre entre el tejido de sus fajas, la preparación y venta de chicha y el cuidado de su hijo especial que tiene 15 años de edad.

Ella está solicitando por primera vez a Edpyme Alternativa un crédito de 1000 nuevos soles que piensa utilizar en la compra de los insumos necesarios para elaborar la chicha de jora (maíz, azúcar, leña) así como hilos para utilizarlos en la confección de fajas.

Sixta es una madre responsable y entregada a su familia. Su más grande anhelo es poder brindarle a su hijo menor una educación de calidad y también mejorar la calidad de vida de su hijo especial para que se siga sintiendo querido y estimado por las personas que lo rodean.
